NEW YORK, September 9, 2008: Vault.com, Inc. today announced the appointment of veteran media sales executive Jonathan Spaet as Executive Vice President, U.S. Sales, effective immediately. In this newly-created role, Mr. Spaet is responsible for building Vault’s sales operations and staff, with a focus on U.S. recruitment and consumer sales operations. Based in New York, Mr. Spaet reports to Samer Hamadeh, Vault co-founder and COO.
“I’m delighted to have a sales executive as talented and respected as Jon joining our company,” said Mr. Hamadeh. “Jon’s intense focus on revenue generation at About, MSNBC, and Time Warner Cable as well as management of large, far-flung sales teams are particularly relevant experiences for Vault as we enter phase 2 of our lifecycle.”
Mr. Spaet has over 25 years of experience in media, including local and network cable television, local and network broadcast television, network radio and the internet in ad sales, marketing, operations, financial planning and news production. He has a proven track record of maximizing the value of a company’s assets, establishing best practices for short and long-term growth.
Mr. Spaet joins the new Vault management team as the company is poised for growth. In late 2007, Veronis Suhler Stevenson, a leading private equity investor in the media, communications, information and education industries, acquired a majority stake in Vault. At that time, Erik Sorenson, a media industry veteran, was named CEO and charged with growing the business into a global, cross-platform leader within the highly competitive career space. In 2008, over 15 million professionals and students will consume Vault’s content on various platforms including its main website, Vault.com, and its Career Library product, which is licensed to nearly 1,000 institutions worldwide.
“After 25 years representing various television, cable and online media platforms, I’m both excited and privileged to be joining Vault,” said Mr. Spaet. “The company is in the midst of a tremendous period of growth and evolution, and with the great product that Vault offers, the terrific staff and financial backing from VSS, it couldn’t be a better time to come aboard and help to build the business.”
