I've always believed a good job description should include keywords at the bottom. Usually I see it in regular text. But this is the first time I've seen it hidden. I don't think Google will appreciate the deception.

May 5, 2008, sees the launch of telcojobs.eu, a new job board serving online recruitment solutions for telco proffesionals, employers, agencies and service providers in the European Union.

This morning, you may have noticed that an ad for ERE.net is appearing on the right-hand side of JobBoarders.com. This is because as of today, ERE is proud to be a sponsor of this community.
Why are we doing it? It’s pretty simple – we run the leading community and news resource for the recruiting profession, you guys are our customers, and we love you.
My personal feelings aside, I also wanted to get the word out about our new… Continue
It was announced today that Jobster raised another $7M in VC funding from existing investors including Ignition Partners, Mayfield Fund, Reed Elsevier Ventures, and Trinity Ventures. The funding brings the total amount of venture capital invested in the company to a whopping $55M, $18M of which was raised in 2006. No information was released about valuation, but I have to imagine that it was either a flat round or maybe even a down round. Either way, the company has extended its runway and bough… Continue

Last week I gave a presentation on a career fair aimed at PhDs. AcademicTransfer is a niche jobboard for scientist and researchers, so they are our target audience. I like interaction so asked them a whole bunch of questions, this was one of the latest and allthough it was a save bet, the result surpised me.

Networking is such a hard thing to do. Most every major job advice book or blog out there will tell you to network if you want a new job. And they are right. The reality is that the majority of new employees hired, were done so thanks to either their personal or professional network.
The problem is that maintaining such a network isn’t the foremost thought on your mind when you’re gainfully and happily employed . It’s only when you are looking for a job that you realize you’ve neglected to keep… Continue
