I really like twitter even though I thought it was a joke just a few months ago.

A lot of bloggers use it to gain followers (follow people by searching for someone with the same interests/location). Once you follow someone, usually they will follow you back. Then, post a link to your blog posts. It's one way to drive traffic. & Eric, I agree, Twhirl is great.
