Hot off the presses...
"Yahoo has added 94 new newspapers to its online advertising network, bringing the total to 779.
Participating newspaper tap into Yahoo's local and national recruitment network through Yahoo HotJobs, as well as use Yahoo paid search technology on their sites. Their stories are also distributed across Yahoo.
The newest newspapers to sign on include the Chicago Sun-Times, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Akron Beacon Journal and the Honolulu Star-Bulletin." Here's
the release.
Paid Content says this about the deal: "
The announcement ballyhoos the quadrupling of the consortium to 779 papers since its launch in late 2006 and tosses in a few more stats but offers precious little about the actual results. We’ve heard dribs and drabs during various earnings calls from newspaper companies eager to show online progress, but we’ve also picked up some mutterings that some partners aren’t seeing hoped-for gains."
