Job Boarders

Has anyone else heard that you have to pay now a specific amount each month to get your jobs on Simplyhired?

Friday morning, the first phone call I received was from Simplyhired letting me know that if I can no longer pay their minimum required budget per site, then our jobs will no longer be included in their search engine. We received no official notification in writing, no e-mail, nothing else, just the phone call.

Has anyone else heard or experienced this as well? It appears this was going in effect immediately. Did I miss a press release or official notification? I could not even find anything written here about this.

Interesting explanation. When they called me on Friday they never mentioned that the reason for this minimum was for problem accounts. The only service requests I remember was to either increase or decrease my budget and about a week ago I increased my budget voluntarily. My customer service rep was always so nice offering her help so I basically took advantage of it but if I would have known that this would cost more money, then I would have done this on my own.

ERE has a great follow up article on this issue that John Zappe wrote.

Here's the skinny:

What’s the criteria? It applies, Godhwani says, “to problem accounts.” These, he defined for us, as publishers and ad buyers who “overwhelmed” the sales team with too many service requests.

Thanks Kat for the clarification. Of course we do understand that you are not obligated to issue an advanced notice but it would have been the professional way to do. If you care about keeping your customers this should have been communicated to customers in advance. Otherwise it appears that you are singling out certain customers.

Yes, there is a minimum of $500/month to sponsor (advertise) your job listings on the Simply Hired network. This minimum reflects the effort to service our advertisers. Per our advertiser agreement, we are not obligated to issue an advanced notice when our terms of service change.

The $500/month minimum for sponsorship is not related to getting your jobs onto the Simply Hired network.

I was also quoted $500.00 minimum for each website. But what I don't know is if this $500.00 is for sponsored listings or organic listings. Does anyone know more about it. Are there any other sites that have experienced this or was I the first one to get called? I am just wondering why there was no official notification about this or why they did not give advanced notice about this change. 2 years ago when they increased the minimum pay per click, they did give 60 days advanced notice which was great, however this time no written notice was given, nor do I see this change advertised on their website.

Pretty interesting, I started this model and scraped it and this is one of the reasons why. I couldn't see how they were going to make enough money from employers to do ppc.
